We celebrate our pioneering project; the FAWrient Express!
Yesterday, on International Coffee Day, we hosted a special event to extend our thanks to all the incredible individuals and companies involved who have helped to bring the FAWrient Express, our unique train carriage cafe, to life. The former train buffet carriage has been transformed into a functioning café thanks to backing from several businesses and the dedication of talented individuals.
More than just a coffee shop, the FAWrient Express is part of a greater mission. Every cup of coffee and every meal served supports our pupils, offering them invaluable hands-on experience in hospitality, to develop critical skills that will aid them in their future careers.
“We are incredibly grateful to the phenomenal individuals, as well as local, national and global organisations that have backed our pioneering project,” said Tim Williams, Headteacher (Loose Site) at Five Acre Wood School. “Their extraordinary support is acknowledged on our ‘wall of honour’ in the FAWrient Express. Their generosity highlights the remarkable power that this initiative holds to ‘achieve new possibilities’ and change lives within and beyond our immediate community.”
The event featured live music, with the school’s choir entertaining guests, accompanied by singer songwriter Barney Holmes. Once the ribbon cutting was complete, guests were invited to enjoy the cosy ambiance of the train carriage and, of course, some refreshments, and a tour of the school.
Stay tuned for the official opening date and don’t forget to follow the FAWrient Express on Facebook and Instagram!
